Jonathan Wills (Jon)
Co-Owner/Managing Director

English P.B: 24lb, Looking forward to smashing this with our own fish!!!

Foreign P.B: 36lb, Beautiful common caught from Dream Lakes 5 in France.

Interests: As well as a keen angler i enjoy just about anything outdoorsy, i try to go snowboarding at least once a year and have a Landrover Defender which i love to take to the lakes for a a bit of off roadin'. i used to be a keen water skier to until "they" ruined it by putting a speed limit on Lake Windermere, sorry still a bit bitter about that.

I suppose now you know a little about me i should really introduce myself properly, my name is Jonathan, Jon to you guys, and along with my brother Dave we have been able to bring you what we hope will be three great waters. We've spent a long time thinking of all aspects of fishing to ensure you have the best time possible with us. The reason we decided to do this was because we were sick of dragging our gear up and down muddy banks, only to be met with muddy pegs or even worse, when you can't get a peg in the ground because of the boulder your trying to set up on. So Four Seasons was born and with the help of our friend/Manager Ben and of course you guys, we are sure it will be a great success.

So how did i get into fishing, well we had a small boat when i was a kid which my dad use to take us out on from the beach so i guess i knew i liked it from an early age. i didn't know about carp however until i was 16 when i met a very good friend of mine called Chris. We used to go around the local fisheries in his bivvy, (a one man bivvy) and sleep on the floor, cold and cramped, very cozy! but when the buzzer sounded it was suddenly all worth it. I never cared how big it was, secretly i wasn't even bothered what was attached to my hook, i just enjoyed the buzz i got when the alarmed screamed out, be it a carp a tench or even a bream. So i went out and bought all the gear and suddenly i cared what i caught, bigger the better, i was hooked!!!

Look forward to meeting you all real soon, tight lines!

Jon

INTERESTS - aside from fishing and my kids I enjoy watching football and am a keen armchair Everton fan. I also play a bit of 5 and 7 aside but I'm no Mikel Arteta unfortunately !! I enjoy watching most sports on the box especially if it can be combined with a trip to the pub with my friends!

Hi folks, I'm Ben, the manager at Four Seasons.

I'm 30 years old and have two beautiful kids, Katie and Alfie. I've had a love of all things fishy since I was a young lad, fishing the local farm ponds with my dad, catching little perch and roach and if I was especially lucky (ie, if I could be bothered plumbing!!!) maybe a nice crewie or a bream. My first memory of catching a proper carp sticks amazingly vividly in my mind, I was fishing alone on a local pond which I'd heard contained a good head of carp and decided that as well as my usual float fishing set up I'd also chuck a ledger out with a rather crude hair rigged stack of corn as bait. After a couple of hours of perch after perch after roach after perch I was absolutely amazed to hear the baitrunner whirr into life on the other rod. So amazed that I struck the rod without disengaging it and ended up with a birds nest of epic proportions and an unbelievably powerful fish well and truly stuck in the bull rushes. After what seemed like an eternity I managed to hand line the unseen beast into open water and finally into my waiting net. I was shaking like a leaf by now and the sight of the fish just made me worse and I had to take 2 or 3 minutes to compose myself. That fish absolutely blew me away, so big and powerful, it was about 12 or 13lbs and was a lovely, long, orangey mirror that was shaped a bit like a banana. I never got a picture of that fish but the memory of it is as clear in my mind today as it was the day I caught it and from that day on the carp has held a special place, right at the top of my fishing affections.

Having read all that then I'm sure you'll understand why the chance to manage what is going to be such an amazing fishery as Four Seasons, is an absolute dream come true for me and I can't wait till our doors open next May.

Until then, take care of you and yours

and finally, tight lines!

Ben
